FAQ’s

  • What is Hanging Weight?
Hanging weight is simply the weight of meat and bone prior to cutting and wrapping.  In the course of cutting and wrapping, bone and fat are removed.  This is why the final weight of packaged beef is less than hanging weight.  Since cattle come in all different sizes, the actual cost differs from animal to animal.
  • When is Beef available?
We harvest our beef during the winter.  Your beef is ready for pickup between December and February.
  • How long does it take for beef to age?
Beef will hang and dry age in the cooler for approximately 12 – 14 days (stand hang time for grass fed beef) before cut, wrap, and freezing.
  • Do you slaughter at the Farm?
We always slaughter at the farm. Our simple goal is to have every animal to have an stress-free life from birth to death. We know that when we are with our animals to the end, they are as stress-free as they have been since birth.
